THOMSON REUTERS, Toronto, ON 2019 - 2022

Senior Agile Program Manager

Organized Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Tax Determination Core Platform team (approximately 100 resources) into 5 high-performance delivery teams (Core .NET Platform, API Governance, Data Engine Platform, User Admin); each comprised of Scrum / Dev / Ops teams focused respectively on feature-delivery and Dev / Ops team managing prioritized production tickets.

  • Organized approximately 100 resources into 4 teams (Core Platform, API Governance, Data Engine and User Admin) capable of sustainably delivering high-quality work using Agile methods; each team delivering prioritized work with Scrum teams building features and Dev / Ops resources resolving production issues.

  • Drove teams to balance feature-richness with quality aspects impacting stability, performance, and security; by resolving technical debt operating expenses were reduced $1.5M dollars over 2 years.

  • Elaborated tools (Jira, Azure Dev / Ops) to measure teams work based on key performance indicators (velocity, carry-over, work-in-progress), monitoring and improving our team’s ability to produce prioritized work sustainability.

Consulting Project Manager

Applied Software Development Lifecycle Project Management methods (Waterfall and Agile) to lead numerous enterprise software initiatives at RBC, Loblaws, TD Bank, Toronto Airport, and BMO Bank. Led teams of developers, business analysts, and testers (upwards of 30 resources), with budgets up to approximately $1.5M.

  • Tracked financials and staffing to ensure project financial health throughout delivery - within 2% of approved budget.

  • Coordinated teams of business analysts, architects, developers, and testers to elaborate key deliverables (business requirements, system requirement specifications, technical design documents and deployment) into production.

  • Managed project risk beyond financials to define developing technical and resource issues and provide detailed status reports on key threats and overall progress, escalating to senior leadership as required.



IBM CANADA LTD, Toronto, ON 1999 - 2010

Project Delivery Executive 2009 - 2010

Managed globally distributed staff of 100+ IBM Canada resources, including IBM Canada teams at 2 major customers, TELUS Mobility and Manulife Financial. Managed talent, ongoing delivery, and new opportunities.

  • Built and maintained IBM's relationships with customer senior management to resolve issues related to talent, delivery of ongoing initiatives, and exploring potential new business.

  • Worked closely with lead developers and project managers to manage and resolve customer escalations, monitoring delivery risk and ongoing talent needs.

  • Reported status to IBM Senior Executives (Partners), escalating major risks as necessary and coordinating arising talent needs with global resource managers.



Project Management 1999 - 2009

Led as Project Manager for large enterprise software initiatives - for internal IBM initiatives and high-profile companies, including Rogers Media, Bell Canada, and Scotiabank.

  • At Rogers Digital Media, led team of approximately 15 resources as Project Manager on early Web 2.0 initiatives to create custom content engagement features (likes, comments) on MacLean's and Canadian Business.

  • Initiatives ranged in value from $35K - $150K.

  • At Bell Canada led large projects totalling $3M and 45+ resources on IBM Canada's largest Application Services initiative for Bell's OrderMax call centre order processing tool to deliver continuous feature and quality enhancements.

  • Led multiple project teams in implementing document processing outsourcing solutions for customers, including Colgate-Palmolive and Carlson Wagonlit, using IBM's Content Management offering.

  • At Scotiabank led as Project Manager multiple data and application hardware infrastructure-related projects ranging in value from $35K to $150K with teams of 3-15 resources.
